YARDLEY, PA, October 2, 2008 -- Kevin Roach has joined Activant Solutions Inc. as the executive vice president of its wholesale distribution group headquartered in Yardley, PA.

Roach's responsibilities at Activant include the development, sale, and implementation of software designed especially for wholesale distributors.

More Than 25 Yeas Industry Experience

Roach brings more than 25 years software industry experience to Activant. Most recently, he served as president of Rockwell Software for Rockwell Automation. There he led all automation and information software efforts.

While at Rockwell Software, he implemented a new strategy to expand plant-wide information software by bringing together control, visualization, information management, and MES. In addition to overseeing the development and release of several new products, he implemented rigorous quality improvement processes.

Roach also served as Vice President of CIMPLICITY Software and Vice President of Global Solutions Business both for GE Fanuc Automation.

His entrepreneurial background includes founding two startup companies, Interactive Process Controls Corporation and SensorPulse Corporation. While leading these organizations, Roach secured several patents in the area of advanced communications protocols. Ultimately large multinational corporations acquired both companies.

Roach attended Stone Hill College and earned his executive Master of Business Administration degree with a focus on business & technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He also was president of his class at RPI.
