New Release Helps Distributors Offer Customers More

YARDLEY, PA, November 30, 2005 - Activant announces the release of Array version 11.0. This newest version of the UNIX-based enterprise software solution includes new features based on customer requests, including item-grouping functionality, expanded search fields and function keys, and many more.

"Activant worked with customers to develop specific features for Array 11," says Steve McLaughlin, senior vice president and general manager of the wholesale distribution group at Activant. "These features will help distributors increase sales, improve customer service, and reduce operating costs."

A Slick New Tool

Steve Shuman, vice president of Nelson Electric Supply, an industrial and automation supplier based in Racine, Wisconsin, knows a thing or two about Array. Not only is he the current president of the Array users group, but he has also watched the solution mature since first implementing it in 1981, and the new functionality has piqued his interest.

"There are some slick new features in Array 11," says Shuman. "The one I'm most excited about is the new item-grouping feature." The item-grouping feature allows users to group items together and attach messages to them. For example, when a salesperson enters an order for a drive, Array 11 can be set to have a message pop up to prompt the sale of an accompanying warranty. This type of sales automation means convenience for the salesmen and the customers.

Other Features Available in Array 11:

• Non-stock item entry window pops up when a non-stock item is entered. This helps streamline operations by restricting coding of non-stock items for easy lookup, as well as automatically e-mailing the buyer to order non-stock items.
• Modify an invoice after totaling and give yourself a second chance to review an order before finalizing, which will improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Saved order inquiry gives you a snapshot of each order as it existed when first entered into the system. This feature improves customer service and removes any doubt concerning the evolution of an order.
